BUSINESS X-CHANGE PRESENTATION – OCTOBER 8, 2025
Business X-Change meets regularly throughout the year. Our October X-Change will be held at the Portage County Business Council office. Business X-Change allows business owners and their employees the opportunity to discuss pertinent topics, learn from local industry leaders and, most importantly, learn from each other.
There is no cost to attend. Coffee and Danish will be provided.

About the Program: Join with Attorney Brian Formella as he guides us through a discussion of the most significant federal and state Supreme Court developments that affect Wisconsin employers. With the audience's help, Brian will make recent legal developments a little less dizzying.
Topics to Include:
- Title VII and reverse discrimination.
- Arrest and conviction record discrimination in Wisconsin.
- Status of sex orientation and gender identity discrimination.
- The ADA and post-retirement benefits.
- Burden of proof in overtime exemption situations.
- SCOTUS corrects WI SCT in unemployment compensation decision.
About our Presenter:
Brian Formella graduated from Marquette University with B.A. degrees in English and Economics and from Marquette University Law School with honors. After graduating, he was a law clerk to Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Louis J. Ceci. His areas of practice include employment, labor law, and municipal law. Brian works with employers to establish sound employment practices. He also defends employers against discrimination accusations.
